Driving
Opioids may cause sedation. With time, this sedation goes away. There is extensive research indicating that one can drive safely while on opioids.
We do not make the decision as to whether you are competent to drive; that is your decision to make. If you do not feel alert, we do not recommend that you drive.
Know that if you get pulled over or are involved in a traffic accident and you are found to have opioids in your blood or urine, you may be charged with driving under the influence.
We may request that you undergo an evaluation by an independent driving instructor regarding your ability to drive safely.
