Percutaneous Neuromodulation Therapy

Percutaneous neuromodulation therapy (PNT) is a new technique that attempts to treat neuropathic pain. It is based upon stimulating large diameter nerves to provide lasting changes in the spinal column, to restore a more normal response to normally non-painful sensations.

It is an office-based procedure. We insert tiny electrodes into your skin in your neck or back, similar to acupuncture needles, and electrically stimulate the needles.

We usually perform up to four sessions, each lasting about ½ hour. If you are getting good relief after 4 sessions, we would continue treating you for another 6 sessions, for a total of 10 sessions.

At Pacific Coast Pain Management Center, Dr. Helm, and associates will use contemporary techniques to diagnose and treat your pain. If you live in the Laguna Hills or greater Orange County area, call today to schedule your consultation with one of our specialists.
